Waiting

A familiar theme in this city is “waiting.”. You wait for the light to
change to cross the street. You wait for elevators. You wait for a
cab. You wait for a table to eat. Here we are, waiting in line for the
Empire State building, once more the tallest in NYC. They told us we
could go up for free if we took the stairs. We declined. I’m not as
young as I once was. Oh yeah, and my wife is pregnant. So, once more,
we wait.
